Walking in the Unknown

Dear Friend,

Special greetings to you. It is the beginning of summer and almost in the middle of 2012. Did you start the year with great expectations? Did you also hope that by the middle of this year you would have more answers than questions? I think we can all say yes.

THE WORLD OF THE UNKNOWN

The world of the unknown is a simple reality to every person on the face of this earth. The unknown is never an indication of you missing out on something. The unknown is what it is: Things not known. The unknown’s in life can bring insecurity and instability, but we do not need to know it all in order to have peace. It is insecure feelings that can become a tool in the hand of the enemy.  Guilt feelings such as, “You should have known”, or “Could have known”, should not leave you living in guilt. Peace from God gives us security when questions are still unanswered. Peace is never based on knowing all facts or having all the insights into tomorrow. God is our peace and having God is to live in peace when questions are still unanswered.

WALKING NOT KNOWING

Hebrews 11:8- “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called out to the place which he would receive an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.”

Abraham must have had insecure feelings about what he was doing. He obeyed in spite of insecure areas in his understanding. This verse clearly says he did not know the direction. He was going not knowing where he was going. Abraham must have found himself in situations where nothing made sense. When things do make sense, we say it is God. Not knowing where you are going does not make sense but somehow a greater power is here at work.

This verse starts with two powerful words namely, by faith. Faith gets you to go where your senses will lose it. Believing God, in spite of the odds against you, does not always make sense. The songwriter wrote a song with the words: We walk by faith and not by sight. Sight is the senses but our faith can get us where our senses will never enter. By faith, Abraham walked to his promise while feeling insecure at times.

FEELING FOREIGN IN THE RIGHT PLACE

Hebrews 11:9- By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.

Abraham found himself in the land of promise still feeling foreign. Our unknown is understandable as God is taking us into something so new that unless the foreign comes with it, it is not new. Most people prefer the comfortable feeling of the known and are willing to spend their lives living in the obvious never experiencing the maximum that God has for them. By doing nothing you will never reach your maximum in life.  Abraham dwelt in the land of the promise feeling foreign. You can be close to your promise and still be exposed to insecurity.

The land of milk and honey was the land of maximum. Walking into the maximum still has that uncomfortable feeling to it. Abraham, in the promise land, still felt foreign. He dwelt in tents and had his two sons with him. Although Abraham felt foreign, he still included his sons into the promise. Faith in God is so strong that our weird and uncomfortable feelings cannot overwhelm us. Abraham even included his sons on this journey. Faith is knowledge that all will be fine in spite of the flesh feeling uncomfortable. Our spirit man can feel good about things when our flesh still fights it. Not knowing, should never keep you away from moving forward.

When all odds are against us and we feel like the foreign one in the room, come to peace with it. Your faith will bear fruit in spite of the odds.

GOD’S PROMISES INCLUDE YOUR CHILDREN

Abraham took his sons with him. Walking in faith he realized that although he could not explain to his children what the future looks like he had to include them on the journey. Never think the unknown is too deep or too challenging for your children. Abraham exposed his two sons to the unknown journey, knowing that in the end it will benefit them. Can you imagine the respect these two boys must have had for their father? A true father will walk through the unknown by faith so that the next generation can walk in a harvest of the faith of the previous generation. Your current unknown is the hiding place of your greatest blessings that have the names of your children written on it.

FAITH SHINES IN THE MIDST OF A CHALLENGE

Faith cannot be operational in the land of the known. Faith is a power that can only be operational in the face of a challenge. Faith brings God into your life. Faith activates heaven to a degree nothing else can. Faith shines at its brightest when the challenge is at its highest. The challenge determines the faith level. Faith will get you to unknown places. Faith will make you do what will seem impossible. Faith makes you functional when man says you are a fool. Faith makes you operational when realists come to a standstill. Faith operates when reasoning gets to its end. Faith discovers what realists do not even know exist. Faith gets you into places that some do not even know is possible.

The west coast of America was an unknown until some of our pioneering forefathers said let us go. Some died on their way to the west coast of the USA. Today, millions live in the reality of the West coast of America because someone dared to believe there is more land to discover.

Your faith is a given. God gave every man a measure of faith. Allow your measure to be exposed so that your journey may began touching and obtaining the impossible. Someone believed we can have such a thing as electrical light when no one has ever seen such light. This person’s faith made it possible and now millions of people use electrical light. Someone else believed in flying as a possibility by watching the birds. Today, millions of people fly in planes when no one ever thought this was possible. There are many more impossibilities that will become possibilities. Maybe it is your measure of faith that will get us there.

FAITH WILL GET YOU TO YOUR INHERITANCE

An inheritance or promise is substance that one has to run after. Embrace your promise through faith and make it available to our heirs.  Heirs cannot embrace something the pioneer should first discover. Isaac and Jacob were heirs of something Abraham went after. Let us not give up on our calling for our sons and daughters could miss out. Abraham took the heirs of the promise with him knowing that is would be for their benefit. Include your children in your daily planning because what you establish today becomes their platform.  From there they will depart into their unknown to establish an inheritance for the next generation. Faith is what makes an inheritance possible for heirs. Unless we walk in faith and accomplish something, what do we leave behind?

Unknowns are a familiar when a person is walking in faith. Unknowns are not a curse. Unknowns are the confirmation that God is hiding something in your future, and he wants you to release the faith He gave you to go and get it.

DESTINY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE UNKNOWN

Two million Jews walked in frustrations for 40 years. They walked in circles going nowhere. By passing the same beacons as a person did previously, can be a sign of not being progressive. Many people do a lot of mileage going nowhere. We can easily get entangled in religious activities thinking we are moving forward not knowing we actually went no where.

Make absolutely sure your life is progressively moving in the right direction. After 40 years, Israel had to break out of a circle that became their bondage. Joshua was the man to lead them out. Moses is now dead. They could not go back. Even the bones of Moses were not to be found. God made sure they have no infrastructure to refer to. Joshua 3:4 says …for you have not passed this way before…

The land of milk and honey was on the other side of a major unknown. You have never gone this way before. Never means; never seen, never heard of, or never experienced. Never means; your memory has no reference to go back to or to refer to. Only the Holy Spirit can get you there. They had to follow the Ark. Following without knowing, just knowing the Holy Spirit knows. In verse 13, God expected the Priests to get their feet in the water first. There are always some leaders who need to show the way. They had to get in first. Their feet touching the water were the moment 2 million Jews got in touch with their inheritance. Come on!! My faith act is the reason millions can get into their destiny.

WE ARE ALL LEADERS

Maybe we have two or three following us and that makes us a leader. Mums lead their daughters, and Fathers lead their son’s. Fathers lead their families and yes, we are all leaders. I challenge you dear friend. Trust in the Lord one more time. Get in the water and touch the very thing that brings fear. The Jordan River, which they thought they can never cross over were the exact obstacle they had to overcome to reach the Promise Land. Touch it and get in. Millions are waiting. Our unknowns are about to disappear the moment someone touches the fear factor. Your fear factor is the very place where your miracle is about to be manifested. Your unknowns are the breeding ground for your greatest breakthrough. You will obtain knowledge about the faithfulness of the Lord that will only come to you by getting in touch with your unknown. What does this mean?

Once we overcome our current unknown we will walk in a fresh KNOWN of who the Lord is. The Promised Land was bigger than the 40 years of circles. There Promised Land was waiting just on the other side of the unknown. Oh how do I feel the presence of the Lord at the moment? I know God better since I have trusted him. I understand His mighty deeds better than ever before since I dared to believe His promises. Thank God I trusted Him. Thank God I believed His promises in the past. Let us move forward, for our greater is on the other side of the unknown. Faith will get us there. Faith will accomplish it. By faith, Abraham was GOING not KNOWING, BUT GOING. Are you going?

LIFE’S REFLECTIONS

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: “AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!” To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: “AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!” Curious, he yells: “Who are you?” He receives the answer: “Who are you?” And then he screams to the mountain: “Answer me!” The voice answers: “Answer me!” Angered at the response, he…screams: “Coward!” He receives the answer: “Coward!” He looks to his father and asks: “What’s going on?” The father smiles and says: “My son, pay attention.” Again the man screams: “You are a champion!” The voice answers: “You are a champion!”
The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father explains: “People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence. This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life. Life will give you back everything you have given to it.”

YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT’S A REFLECTION OF YOU!

Let us walk the walk of faith for soon we will enter that “promise” we all pioneer after
